Basketball: Lakeview boys, Chestatee girls take wins

GAINESVILLE — Lakeview Academy and Chestatee split a pair of games at the Lynn Cottrell Court in their final tune-ups before the Lanierland tournament next week.
 
The Chestatee girls rolled past the Lady Lions 59-27 with the Lakeview Academy boys taking a 67-65 come-from-behind win in the nightcap.
 
In the girls game on Senior Night, seniors ​Logan Wiggins had 10, Annie Dollyhigh 8, Danielle Bull had 4, and Emma Easterwood and Carly Buice had 3 points each. However, Bowen Corley led the Lady War Eagles with 16 points. Riley Black had 8 and Sierra Yarbrough had 7 for Chestatee (4-6).
 
Chestatee led the entire way running out to a 31-15 lead by halftime.
 
Lakeview's Joelle Snyder led all scorers with 20 points.
 
Chestatee next will take on Flowery Branch in the first round of Lanierland on Monday. Lakeview will play East Hall on Monday.
 
In the boys game, Lakeview (5-2) rallied late to take its second straight win and fourth in five games.
 
Conley Millwood paced the Lions with 18 points. Harrison Cooper had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, Wes Rigdon 8 points and 6 assists, and Isaac Marcero added 8 points and 6 rebounds for Lakeview.
 
The Lions next will play Gainesville on Monday to open Lanierland. Chestatee (2-7) will take on Johnson on Monday in the first round of Lanierland.
