GAINESVILLE — The Gainesville girls jumped out to a huge first-quarter lead and then cruised to a 75-48 win over Landmark Christian on Saturday.
The Lady Red Elephants (6-5_ exploded for 25 points in the opening frame for a 12-point lead. They continued their offensive push outscoring the Lady War Eagles 18-11 in the second quarter for a 43-24 lead. The third quarter was much the same as Gainesville used a 21-9 run to extend the lead 64-33.
KeKe Jones poured in 18 points to lead nine Gainesville scorers. Lauren Teasley added 15 points and Zaria Williams had 13 points for Lady Red Elephants.
It was the second straight win for Gainesville, which is off until taking on Cherokee Bluff in the opening round of the Lanierland Tournament on Dec. 28.

Callie Dale scored 17 points and Maleah Harrison had 16 to rally the Lady Vikings past Banks County in a close one on the road Saturday.
Audrey Griffin added 8 points in the win.
The Lady Vikings (6-3) will travel to Apalachee on Tuesday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
