A Dawson County boy was stabbed to death over the weekend and a teenage girl has been charged with the death.
Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson confirmed initial details of the incident on Sunday night, saying the 11-year-old boy was discovered around 5 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the western part of the county. The victim had been stabbed several times.
Johnson said the girl, who is 14, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and felony murder. Even though she will be charged as an adult, Johnson declined to release her name. The name of the victim also is being withheld.
Investigators at this point have not released a motive in the case.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been asked to assist the Dawson County Sheriff's Office with the investigation.
