FLOWERY BRANCH — Cherokee Bluff needed a spark after falling behind against Dawson County last week.
That spark came from Jayquan Smith. The junior running back rushed for 316 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bears past Dawson County, 28-27.
Cherokee Bluff is tied with North Hall for the Region 7-3A lead and can clinch the title with a victory over North Hall on Friday.
Smith said the team's preparation and a different mentality gave him and the Bears the edge on last week.
