The Chestate football team turned in one of the program's best seasons in 2024.
Yeah, the War Eagles didn't end the season how they had hoped, but going toe-to-toe with the top-ranked team in the state and the No. 3 overall seed in the Class 3A playoffs proved how far they have come.
Junior running back Ben Plemons played a considerable part in the War Eagles' success this season, and he didn't back down on Friday against Peach County. He rushed 22 times for 170 yards and three touchdowns in the playoff loss.
So, it was hard to ignore his performance this week, and that is why he earned his second Gaining the Edge award.
