A double shooting in Gwinnett County leaves a Lawrenceville man dead and an Atlanta man charged in the case.
A 9-1-1 call about shots fired prompted Gwinnett County Police to investigate around 6:30 p.m. Thursday. When police arrived on scene at Summer Ridge Lane in Lawrenceville, they foundSayvon Redding, 27, lying in the parking lot with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the local hospital where he died from his injuries.
A second man was located about a block away. Isaac Dewater, 21, had also been shot, but his injuries were not life threatening. He was charged Friday with felony murder and aggravated assault.
Gwinnett County Police said it seems an altercation between several people in the parking lot led to the gunshots.
The crime scene unit will process the scene for evidence and continue the investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Gwinnett County Police.
