One of Georgia’s most influential Latinos is a teacher in Gwinnett County. Nury Crawford is the head of the Gwinnett Public Schools’ mentoring program for Hispanic students. She was named as one of the top 50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia out of 400 applicants considered.
According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, candidates were judged by their character, impact and connectivity with their communities.
Crawford is director of the program she also created in 2019. The community-based mentoring program for Hispanic students is designed to help the youths succeed by training and recruiting mentors to work with students and their parents.
