Girls basketball: EHall upsets Dawson at home; NHall secures No. 2 spot; Buford, White win

RABBITTOWN — Audrey Griffin and Angel Rodriguez scored 14 points each as East Hall overcame a late Dawson County (13-11, 6-6 Region 7-3A) rally to pick up a 67-57 win in the regular-season finale at home. 

Griffin hit 11 fourth-quarter foul shots to help secure the win. The Lady Vikings (9-15, 4-8 Region 7-3A) were 15-of-20 from the foul line.  

After falling behind 10-0, Rodriguez led a Lady Viking 16-4 spurt, scoring 8 points that pushed East Hall ahead, 16-14.

Dawson’s scoring attack was paced by Maddie Anglin with 19 points, and Marlie Townley, turning in another double-double performance with 17 points and 14 rebounds. 


NORTH HALL 60,
CHEROKEE BLUFF 42

Grace Hollifield scored 20 points and Lauren Swanson had 17 to lead the Lady Trojans (17-8, 8-4 Region 7-3A) past Cherokee Bluff (5-20, 2-10 Region 7-3A) at home on Friday. 

The Lady Trojans led 33-25 at the half and 41-30 after the third quarter. 

North Hall will be the No. 2 seed and will host the first round of the Region 7-3A tournament on Wednesday. 


HEBRON CHRISTIAN 90,
LAKEVIEW 47

Joelle Snyder scored 23 points in the Lady Lions' loss to N0. 2 Hebron Christian at home on Friday.

Maddy Towles had 9 points and 9 rebounds, Jackie Allen had 6 points and 6 boards, and Ellie Kate Madonna scored 4 points and pulled 5 rebounds. 

Lakeview (18-7, 8-1 Region 8-A) will play in the first round of the region tournament at Commerce at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeview's opponent will be announced on Sunday. 


BUFORD 66,
CLARKE CENTRAL 20

The Lady Wolves (24-1, 10-0 Region 8-5A) finished their regular season stroll through Region 8-5A with a 26-point win over Clarke Central in Athens on Friday. 

Blair Wallis scored 19 points, 15 from 3-point range, to lead the Lady Wolves. Tate Walters added 16. 


WHITE COUNTY 45,
FLOWERY BRANCH 41

Naomi Crumley scored 14 points and Maddie Futch and Dasha Cannon tossed in 10 points each to sweep the Lady Falcons and seal the No. 2 seed in the region tournament next week. 

Ashlee Locke led the Lady Falcons with a game-high 23 points. 

The Lady Warriors led at the half, 26-21, and pushed it to 10 points, 39-29, by the end of the third period. 

Flowery Branch mounted a charge in the fourth quarter, behind 6 points from Locke, but fell short.
