By Bo Wilson Sports Editor

GAINESVILLE — Brenton Nicholson hit eight 3-pointers and scored a game-high 28 points to lead Chestatee past Johnson, 69-62, in overtime Saturday at home.

Johnson's Wade Pearce was almost just as good, scoring 22 points -- 19 from behind the 3-point arc -- but Nicholson scored 7 of the War Eagles' 14 overtime points to best the Knights.

The War Eagles (10-12)  hit 15 3-pointers, and Kyle Bowmar poured in 20 points -- 15 from 3-point land. Jonah Bull chipped in 11 points and dished out five assists.

It was an intense battle after the War Eagles grabbed a 15-8 advantage after the first quarter. The Knights (4-17) outscored Chestatee, 47-39, over the next three quarters to tie the game at the end of regulation.

Pearce and Harbin were key in the Knights' comeback, hitting a combined 28 points. Harbin finished with 13 points, and Buddah Johnson added 10.
