The man who shot himself during a Gainesville traffic stop on Tuesday, Jan. 7 has died from his injuries.
Charles Eugene Allison, 54, of Gainesville shot himself as officers approached his car during the stop about 5 p.m. on Pearl Nix Parkway. Allison was alive, but critically injured, when he was taken from the scene.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating, but a spokeswoman said Thursday no new information could be released.
