Banks County men charged in death of Oglethorpe County man

Two Banks County men have been charged in connection to the death of Jimmy Anglin, a man reported missing from Oglethorpe County in November 2017.

Robert David Jordan, 55, of Banks County was arrested and charged with felony murder in the Anglin case.

“We greatly appreciate the assistance of Banks County Sheriff Carlton Speed and their hardworking deputies for their assistance in the serving of this warrant,” said Oglethorpe County Sheriff David Gabriel in a statement. “Additionally, we received assistance from Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and GSP in this investigation.”

Jordan was picked up by Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office personnel immediately after being interviewed by the GBI, according to Banks County Sheriff’s Capt. Casey Brouwer.

Robert David Jordan’s brother Steve Hollis Jordan, 52, of Banks County, was arrested earlier in the week and was charged with concealing the death of another. He was booked at the Banks County Law Enforcement Center.

Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI have followed up all leads and information in the case since the initial missing person report.

In November 2018, a lead was investigated, and substantial evidence was located at that time, the statement reads.

That evidence required testing to confirm it was related to the Anglin case, so it was sent to the FBI for confirmation.

“The results of those tests were received last week that tied this case together,” the statement reads.

Anglin, 27 at the time, was last seen on Nov. 3, 2017, at the Dollar General store in Comer. He was reported missing by his fiancée.
