Local Latino group to hold prayer vigil outside of GHS ahead of new school year

Ahead of the new school year in Gainesville, a local community group has planned a morning of prayer for the school system.

The Latinos Conservative Organization said community leader, pastors, teachers, business owners, parents, students and city officials will be part of the event on Saturday, August 3. 

The event begins at 10 a.m. on the campus of Gainesville High School at 830 Century Place in Gainesville. 

The first day of the 2019-2020 school year for the Gainesville City School System is Wednesday, August 7.
