The Gainesville City Schools Board of Education voted to approve renovations to The Hub, the school system’s student success center, during its Monday Work Session.
The board approved $75,865.66 for the renovations to the center’s Wellness Room, which will include technologies to better serve those presenting to students remotely via video conference.
“The Hub Wellness Room was originally launched in 2020,” a statement attached to the board’s agenda said. “Since then, technologies have become more readily available, which will allow the seamless operation of the Wellness Room, whether someone from within the school system or visiting experts are using the space.”
The funding will come from the school system’s General Fund and was previously allocated to the department overseeing The Hub.
