Banks County issues Boil Water Advisory for Hebron area

Banks County has issued a Boil Water Advisory after a loss in water pressure due to a repair to the water line on Hebron Road.

Banks County officials said a potential health hazard may exist in areas that had no pressure from backflow and/or back-siphonage of water of unknown quality into the water distribution system.

Banks County water customers in the area from the 800 block of Hebron Road to the Franklin County line, including Meadow Lake Subdivision and all roads within, as well as Beasley Road and all citizens that experienced water outages and/or low pressure in the affected area are advised to boil any water prior to use for drinking, cooking or preparing any food.

Water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil.

Customers should continue to boil their water until they are notified by the Banks County Water Department that the water system has been restored to full operation and that the microbiological quality of the water in the distribution system is safe for human consumption.

The Banks County Water Department will post a notice when this boil water advisory has been lifted, hopefully within 24 to 48 hours.
