The Banks County Sheriff’s Office and Board of Education opened an investigation on Wednesday of an incident between two students at a school in the county.
Banks County officials said the incident occurred on Mar. 4 after an organized school sporting event. One student allegedly carried an airsoft pistol in his vehicle on school grounds.
The student presented the airsoft gun to another student and discharged it into the ground.
No one was injured during the incident and no threats were reported.
School administration has addressed disciplinary action and the student who possessed the airsoft gun has been charged with carrying a weapon on school property.
