Braselton man charged with possession of lewd image of a child

A cyber tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has ended with the arrest of a Braselton man.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested John Frederick Kimmerle, 69, on Tuesday, July 2 and charged him with sexual exploitation of a child. Investigators said he was found in possession of a lewd image of a child on his home computer. Kimmerle lives in a home located in the 5300 block of Forest Way.

Investigators said the tip about Kimmerle's online activity was reported to the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is a member of the group and continues the investigation into the case.

At last report, Kimmerle remained in custody.
