New principals recommended for McEver Elementary, World Language Academy Primary

By AccessWDUN Staff

Two veteran Hall County educators are in line to become the new principals at McEver Elementary School and World Language Academy Primary.

Hall County Schools Supt. Will Schofield plans to recommend Brittany Bennett for the McEver job and Bev Moody for the World Language post.  He will present his recommendations to the school board April 8.

Bennett, who currently serves as WLA Primary Principal, began her career on August 5, 2002, as a teacher at Lanier Elementary School.  She moved to administration in August 2009 as an assistant principal at World Language Academy.  In 2013, Mrs. Bennett was promoted to WLA Associate Principal and then WLA Co-Principal, a leadership role she shared with Laurie Hitzges at the AOD campus.  Then, this school year, she became WLA Primary Principal.

She will begin her new leadership role (pending board approval) at McEver at the end of the current school year, replacing Matt Alexander, who was recently named Director of Elementary Education for the 2019-2020 school year.

Moody began her career in the Hall County School District on July 31, 2006 as a teacher of gifted students at Lanier Elementary School.  In 2009, she transferred to WLA Primary for one year as a classroom teacher and continued her career as a classroom teacher until she entered administration.  Moody’s first role as administrator was assistant principal at McEver from 2013 through 2018. At the end of the 2017-18 school year, she transferred to Cherokee Bluff Middle School as assistant principal.

Moody will begin her new leadership role as WLA Primary Principal (pending board approval) at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year.
