Schofield: "Hope and admiration" for 2020 graduates

By Lauren Hunter Multimedia Journalist

Hall County Schools Superintendent Will Schofield released a video this afternoon with a message of “hope and admiration” for the graduating class of 2020.

In the video, Schofield emphasizes his and the Board of Education’s support for graduating seniors, all of whom have missed out on scheduled activities due to school closures.

“I want you to hear it from me, I want you to hear it from your Board of Education, that we’re behind you, we haven’t forgotten you,” said Schofield.

Many graduations across the state, including in Hall County, have been cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schofield tells students that Hall County high school principals will soon contact them for input on a way to honor their graduation day despite COVID-19 concerns.

Schofield’s full video can be viewed above.
