ACT scores show Hall County students above the national average

Recently released ACT results show that Hall County School District’s 2021 graduating class scored well above the national average.

The recent graduates had an average ACT score of 21.9. The national composite average is 20.3.

This year’s graduating class improved the Hall County average from the year before. One year earlier, the 2020 graduating class had a score of 21.3.

“Gains of this nature are impossible to achieve without a unified K through 12 effort,” said Superintendent Will Schofield in a statement released Wednesday. “We are pleased with the effort and results, and more importantly, we are proud of our students.”

The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. It is currently administered by ACT, a nonprofit organization of the same name. The ACT test covers four academic skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and scientific reasoning.
