Hall County Schools donates medical gear to Northeast Georgia Medical Center

The Hall County School System donated medical supplies including goggles, masks and gowns to Northeast Georgia Medical Center last week. The supplies will help protect NGMC staff who may be exposed to COVID-19.

According to Stan Lewis, Director of Community Relations and Athletics for Hall County Schools, the supplies included 252 goggles, approximately 5,000 masks, 500 Personal Protective Equipment kits, 830 gowns and approximately 15,000 pairs of gloves. The supplies were delivered on March 20th.

Lewis said the supplies were in storage for the school system’s healthcare science labs.

“We had them on hand and we knew that they were in high demand, so we wanted to give back to the community and help out,” said Lewis.

Lewis said the donation is just one way the school system hopes to help the community during this crisis.

“We are always open to giving back to the community and if there’s any way that we can help out in any area then that’s something we will consider,” said Lewis.
