The Region 8-A girls All-Region team was announced this week with several northeast Georgia players and coaches being honored.
(The team was selected by region coaches.)
Lakeview Academy's Eliza Snyder was named the Region 8-A Player of the Year. Snyder was instrumental in helping lead the Lady Lions to an undefeated regular season record and the No. 1 seed in the region tournament.
Towns County coach Brian Hunnicutt was named the Coach of the Year. Hunnicutt led the Lady Indians to more than double their wins (13) from a year ago (6).
