Basketball: Banks County rallies past Commerce; Banks girls win

By AccessWDUN Staff

HOMER — Banks County outscored Commerce 43-25 in the second half, including a huge 25-10 fourth-quarter run, to rally past the Tigers Saturday at home.

Commerce (8-4) saw its four-game losing streak snapped in the loss. The Tigers started strong taking a 12-8 lead after the opening period. But the Leopards (10-1) used a 23-15 second-quarter surge to grab a 31-27 lead and never looked back.

Commerce stayed within striking distance trailing just 49-42 heading into the fourth quarter. But again Banks County exploded with its big fourth-quarter run.

Carl Cleveland had another huge night for the Leopards with 36 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists to lead the comeback. Dakota Orr added 14 points for Banks County.

Ian McConnell scored 15 points to pace Commerce. Dominic Ricci added 10 points and Creed Dunbar had 9 for the Tigers.
