GAINESVILLE — The Lakeview Academy girls ran their win streak to three after a thrilling 54-52 win over Rabun Gap Saturday afternoon at the Lakeview gym.
The Lions (7-4) trailed 15-7 after the first quarter but used a 17-5 second quarter to grab a 24-20 halftime advantage. Lakeview maintained its slim lead the rest of the way leading 39-37 heading into the fourth quarter.
Joelle Snyder poured in 26 pts to go with 8 rebounds to lead Lakeview. Eliza Snyder added 20 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds, and Jackie Allen had 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the Lions. Ellie Kate Madonna had 4 points and Maddy Towles pulled down 6 rebounds.
Lakeview is off until next next Saturday when it plays host to Oconee County.

Dawson County next will travel to Lumpkin County n Tuesday in a Region 7-3A showdown.
White County, which is on a three-game win streak, hits the road against Chestatee in a Region 7-4A battle on Tuesday.

The Class 2A fourth-ranked Wildcats outscored the Leopards in every quarter in taking a Region 8-2A win at home.
Rabun County led 13-9 after the first quarter and 32-19 by halftime. A 17-9 third quarter run blew the game open as the Wildcats led 49-28 heading into the fourth quarter.
Gracie Deetz led Rabun County with 13 points and 4 rebounds. Sophie Woodard added 11 points and 3 rebounds for the Wildcats.

The Red Elephants held Washington to 7-points or less in every quarter in taking the big win.
Gainesville (3-5) opened the game with a 12-3 run and led 41-10 at halftime. The Red Elephants built a 56-17 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Lauren Teasley paced 10 Gainesville with 20 points.Freshmen KeKe Jones and Zaria Williams had 11 and 9 points, respectively, for the Red Elephants.
Gainesville next will play host to Cedar Shoals on Tuesday.
