Gwinnett County officials are investigating a fire that heavily damaged a home, displacing one person in unincorporated Norcross early Saturday morning.

In a release, Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services Lieutenant Justin Wilson said crews were called to the home on Wind Forest Court NW just after 2:00 a.m. where they found heavy flames showing near the roof. It took crews around 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

According to the release, no one was home at the time of the fire, but one adult was displaced. That person reportedly declined Red Cross assistance.

Officials believe the fire originated on the front side of the two-story home's upper floor but the exact cause has not been determined. The investigation is ongoing.

No one was injured.
