Girls basketball: Lakeview gets out-of-state road win; LCA takes road win

CHATTANOOGA — The Lakeview Academy girls took a long road trip out of state and came back with a win over Chattanooga Christian, 44-28, Friday night.

Sophomore Joelle Snyder continued her breakout season with 25 points to lead the Lions (3-10). Senior Eliza Snyder had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and seniors Jackie Allen had 5 assists and Maddy Towles 5 rebounds for Lakeview.

Lakeview next will take on Class 2A power Rabun County in the first round of the Piedmont Tournament on Monday.

Lanier Christian Academy used a huge second half to rally for a big road win on Friday and stay unbeaten.

The Lightning (3-0) trailed 11-9 after the first quarter and led just 17-16 at halftime. But LCA outscored Old Suwanee 24-8 in the second hlaf.

LCA blew open the tight game with a 13-2 third quarter and continued with an 11-6 fourth quarter.

Faith Wasden had 18 points to lead the Lightning. Ashley Avery added 10 points, Lexie Robertson had 5 points, and Hollie Beussee and Reece Montgomery each chipped in with 4 points for LCA.

Old Suwanee was led by Beryl Mensah-Dartey with 9 points.

LCA is off until Dec. 3 when it travels to Trinity Classical.
