Basketball: Chestatee, North Hall split

GAINESVILLE — The Chestatee girls ended North Hall's unbeaten streak to start the season with a 48-39 victory at home Thursday night.

Maggie McNair and Emma Easterwood each poured in 14 points to lead the way for Chestatee. Logan Wiggins contributed 12 points in the paint for the War Eagles (2-2).

Meanwhile, Maci Gillespie had 13 points to pace North Hall (2-1). Grace Hollifield added 11 points for the Trojans.

Chestatee is off until December 3rd when it plays host to Denmark to open Region 7-4A play.

North Hall next will play host to White County on Monday.

Brock Cooper scored 19 and Cole Ellis had 13 in the Trojans' win over Chestatee on the road on Thursday.

After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Trojans pulled away in the second to take a 34-24 lead into the locker room at the half.

North Hall (2-1) maintained its 10-point advantage in the third quarter while outscoring the War Eagles,16-11, in the final period. 

The Trojans had 10 different players scored in the win.
