FLOWERY BRANCH — Junior Corey Thomas had a monster game to open the season leading the Cherokee Bluff boys to a tough 64-58 win over East Jackson Friday night at home.
Thomas poured in 27 points and snatched down 20 rebounds for the Bears (1-0) who battled back and forth all night with the Eagles.
Griffin Neville added 12 points and Jason Evrett 6 for Cherokee Bluff.
The Bears will travel to St. Pius on Tuesday.
East Jackson (1-1) will play host to Habersham Central on Saturday.
