North Ga pet adoptions, goods to be at Governor's mansion Saturday

Several North Georgia pet adoption organizations and one North Georgia home grown vendor will be part of an Adoption Day and Georgia Grown Festival at the Governor's mansion Saturday.

Cat Rangers of Buford, the Humane Society of Jackson County and Angels Among Us of Alpharetta will bring pets along with 11 other pet adoption organizations to help get the animals adopted during the festival.

This is not the first adoption event at the mansion. First Lady Marty Kemp said, "To date, our adoption days hosted at the Governor's Mansion have helped over seventy pets find their forever homes. We look forward to building upon our success to support many more animals and promote local, small businesses."

Meanwhile, attendees can purchase Georgia grown products from nine state vendors, including Unicoi Preserves out of Cleveland.

The event is from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. More information can be found here.
