An anonymous donor is sponsoring 20 cat adoptions at the Hall County Animal Shelter throughout the month of September.
The first 20 public applicants through the month of September will get their new cat for free. The waived fee is only applicable to public adoptions and does not apply to rescue.
"We take in as many as 60 or 70 stray cats some days, so this incentive for free adoptions is exactly what we need to find forever homes for these animals," said Hall County Animal Shelter Director Mike Ledford.
While the fee is waived, Ledford said adoption applications will still be required.
The adoption fee for a cat is usually $85, including medical testing, microchipping, spay/neuter, deworming and vaccinations.
