For the rest of the week, weather permitting, the Georgia Department of Transportation will be working to make improvements on State Route 347 near the Reunion community in Hall County.
GDOT spokeswoman Katie Strickland said maintenance crews are doing additional excavation on the U-turn areas near Reunion Way.
"The crews began this work last Friday," Strickland said; the goal is making U-turns easier for larger vehicles, such school buses, to navigate. "Those areas are often referred to as the eyebrows, so we're just increasing the size of the eyebrow there."
Strickland said crews will be in the westbound lanes every day through Friday of this week. Daytime single lane closures will be in place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Strickland said GDOT will continue the work in the westbound lanes the rest of the month with an expected completion in early December.
