The regular seasons have concluded and the all-important region tournaments are under way around the state and northeast Georgia for girls softball teams.
Most state qualifiers are already known but they now set their sites on seedings.
Below is the schedule of the region tournaments for northeast Georgia regions:
REGION 8-2A (all games at Banks County)
WEDNESDAY, Oct. 2
Single-elimination
Game 1: Banks vs. Monticello, noon
Game 2: Union County vs. Rabun Count, 2 p.m.
Game 3: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 (winner is No. 3 seed, loser is No. 4 seed), 4 p.m.
Championship Game: Winner Game 1 vs. winner Game 2 (winner is Region champ and No. 1 seed; loser is No. 2 seed), 6 p.m.
