Qualifying is underway for a special election for Lula City Council and on the opening day of qualifying, one candidate has tossed his hat into the ring.
Matthew Hamby was the sole qualifier for the city council post vacated in August by Vince Evans, according to City Clerk Rosemarry Totty.
Qualifying for the election ends Wednesday.
The election will be held March 19, 2019.
