JEFFERSON — The East Hall girls volleyball team improved to 6-1 on the season after taking wins over Jackson County and Johnson in a tri-match.
The Lady Vikings knocked off Jackson County to open the night 25-19, 22-25, 26-24 then spiked Johnson in straight sets 25-12, 25-7.
Savannah Thellman scored 21 points on serve with 5 aces, 4 kills, 10 digs and 43 assists and Tessa Rider scored 17 points on serve with 4 aces, 31 kills, 3 assists and 27 digs to pace East Hall. Lakeria Whelchel scored 5 points on serve with 5 kills, 1 assist and 2 digs, Ivey Shadburn scored 6 points on serve with 5 digs, and Janelly Lara added 5 points on serve with 3 aces, 10 kills, 1 assist and 28 digs for the Lady Vikings.
Nehemiah Jinks had 7 kills, 1 dig and 3 blocks and Alysia Teague scored 10 points on serve with 2 aces, 3 assists, 2 kills and 32 digs for East Hall.
The Lady Vikings next will take on White County and East Jackson on Thursday in their home opener.
