OAKWOOD – East Hall cruised to a 66-39 win over West Hall in the consolation round of the Lanierland Tournament Saturday at West Hall.
The win gives East Hall the No. 7 seed in next year's tournament.
"West Hall played well in the first half," East Hall coach Justin Wheeler said. "We struggled on the boards and they shot the ball well. In the second half, we increased our intensity on defense and were able to get to the rim on offense. The girls did a great job of coming out and executing."
Maggie Griffin led the Lady Vikings with 15 points. Ashante Peoples hit for 11 and Nehemiah Jinks chipped in 8 points.
East Hall (7-10, 1-3) will jump into Region 7-3A play Friday when the Lady Vikings travel to Greater Atlanta Christian. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Lady Spartans (4-9, 1-3) will host Marist Friday in a Region 7-4A battle. Game time is 7 p.m.
