Lumpkin County turned a slow start into a big finish Saturday night against Gilmer County on the road.
MacKenzie Pulley scored 19 points and Isabel Davenport had 11 to lead the Lady Indians past Gilmer County 49-32, snapping a 2-game skid.
It was a welcomed ending after losing a close Region 7-3A battle to Greater Atlanta Christian School Friday night - a game the Lady Indians led until late in the fourth quarter.
Lumpkin opened the game on a snail's pace, however, scoring four points in the first quarter. The Lady Indians trailed 5-4 at the end of the first 8 minutes - that would be the only time they trailed. Lumpkin outscored the Lady Bobcats 44-27 in the final 24 minutes.
Clara White poured in 10 points, Ashlynn Wistoski chipped in 6 points, and Makenzie Caldwell scored 3.
The Lady Indians (10-2, 2-2) will travel to Dawson County Tuesday. Game time is 6 p.m.
