The Christmas tournament season got under way last week with a slew of events. But the main course, and some of the more interesting tournaments of the season, will get under way Thursday around the area and state for most of the northeast Georgia area teams we cover at AccessWDUN.
Top of the list wil be the 59th edition of the Lanierland Tournament, which gets under way onThursday at Chestatee with the quarterfinal round. The semifinals and finals move to West Hall on Friday and Saturday.
The annual Battle of the States tournament will be held at Towns County this year with area teams Lumpkin County, Towns County, and Union County battling teams from North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Battle also runs from Thursday to Saturday.
Banks County is hosting a Christmas turnament on Friday and Saturday.
Both Jefferson teams will be traveling to Pensacola, Fla., for a Christmas tournament near the Gulf Coast beach.
