Girls basketball: Branch, White, EHall, Rabun all win; Lumpkin drops first game

Flowery Branch jumped on Blessed Trinity early Tuesday night to knock off the Lady Titans 65-32 at home.

Ashley Woodroffe led the Lady Falcons with 14 points.

Flowery Branch used a 23-7 first quarter lead to pace the rest of the night. The Lady Falcons led by 20 at the half, 39-19. In the second half, Flowery Branch held the Lady Titans to 12 points.

Caroline Wysocki and Shaina Kriews both chipped in 11 points

Flowery Branch (6-1, 3-0) will host Denmark Friday. Game time is 6 p.m.

LUMPKIN COUNTY 48

A poor first-half performance led to the Lady Indians’ first loss of the season Tuesday night against Fannin County in Dahlonega.

The Lady Rebels held Lumpkin’s top-two scorers, MacKenzie Pulley, and Isabel Davenport to just 6 points in the first half to take a 27-10 lead at the end of the half. 

Lumpkin found some energy in the second half, especially from Pulley. She scored 12 of her 14 points in the third and fourth quarters, but the rally fell short.

Davenport and MaKenzie Caldwell finished the night with 11 points each. Clara White and Ashlynn Wistoski added 5 points, and Madisyn Echols scored 2.

Lumpkin (9-1, 2-1) will host GAC Friday. Tip is 6 p.m.

 

WHITE COUNTY 66
WEST HALL 42

Kinsey Wilson scored 19 points and pulled 13 rebounds in a loss to White County Tuesday night.

The Lady Spartans (3-5, 0-2) will travel to Chestatee Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.

White County (4-5, 1-2) will host Chestatee Dec. 18. Tip is 6 p.m.

CHEROKEE BLUFF 29

The Lady Vikings took care of business at Cherokee Bluff Tuesday night.

Ivey Shadburn scored 12 points to lead the Lady Vikings over the Lady Bears.

Alexis Burce tossed in 10 points, Angel Rodriguez had 8, Audry Griffen scored 6, and Nehemiah Jinks scored 6.

East Hall (3-7, 1-2) will host Fannin County Dec. 18. Game time is 6 p.m.

Cherokee Bluff (5-3, 0-3) will travel to Fannin Friday. Tip is 7 p.m.

 

RABUN COUNTY 79
STEPHENS COUNTY 65

Brooke Henricks had 21 points and Laken Stiles scored 18 to lead the Lady Wildcats past Stephens County on the road Tuesday night.

Henricks also pulled down 6 boards, while Stiles dished out 5 assists and 8 steals.

Georgia Stockton chipped in 10 points. 

Renejah Verde scored 21 points for Stephens.

Rabun (3-1) will host Oglethorpe County Friday. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
