Northeast Georgia could see a round of winter weather this weekend, with the National Weather Service calling for a wintry mix in and north of Gainesville.
As of Monday morning, the forecast indicated an 80-percent chance of precipitation, with temperatures just above freezing Friday and Saturday night.
The National Weather Service's hazardous weather outlook indicated there could be more wintry precipitation in the mountain counties and higher elevations.
If indeed there is a round of winter precipitation, it likely won't stick around during the day, when highs are expected to reach the 40's or even 50's.
But with temperatures falling back down into the 30's at night, it raises the possibility of black ice causing problems on local roadways.
