A Gainesville man is facing charges for allegedly attempting to meet a child for sex in South Hall County.
Adam Lee Epps, 32, was using a mobile app to have "sexually explicit conversations" right up until his arrest Wednesday near the Publix on Spout Springs Road in Braselton, said Derreck Booth, Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Following a two week investigation, Epps was charged with attempted aggravated child molestation and the electronic enticement of a child.
Investigators said no child was ever in danger.
The case can serve as a reminder, Booth said, for parents to watch what their children are doing online, and especially when children have access to smart phones and tablets.
"Parent involvement is paramount, to know what children are doing online, to know when they're online (and) to keep close tabs on your kids' online presence," said Booth.
Parents with questions or those looking for a recommendation of a software program that can help them monitor their child's online presence are encouraged to speak with the School Resource Officer at their child's school, Booth said.
