A bill filed under the Gold Dome could allow people to carry handguns in Georgia without needing a permit.
Republican State Representative Matt Gurtler, Tiger has pre-filed House Bill 2 that would allow anyone who is legally able to own a handgun to also carry a handgun without a Georgia Firearms Permit.
The AJC reports, Gurtler sites, what he calls, high fees of getting a permit and the portion of the Second Amendment that reads "The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" calling it a no-compromise statement.
The bill cannot be heard till the next legislative session, which begins in January.
