Gwinnett County shooting suspect remains at-large

The search continues for a Gwinnett County suspect behind the shooting of a woman at a Norcross hotel last week.

Gwinnett County Police are looking for Jamel Leslie Cooke, 44, who is accused of shooting the woman on Tuesday, August 15, at around noon.

Officers were dispatched to a “person shot” call at 5945 Oakbrook Parkway in unincorporated Norcross. When officers arrived, they found the woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers provided first aid and the victim was transported to a local hospital. Detectives believe the motive is robbery related.

Cooke has active warrants for Aggravated Assault, Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.

His current location is unknown and he is considered armed and dangerous.
