Gainesville man faces drug charges after chase in Hall County

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

Charges have been added by Hall County Sheriff's Office against a Gainesville man following his initial arrest in late August.

Hall County Sheriff's spokeswoman B.J. Williams says 34-year-old Joseph Russell Harris was initially arrested August 31st after allegedly fleeing authorities both by vehicle and on foot.

Willams said investigators then added more charges after finding around a pound of methamphetamine and two firearms from Harris's vehicle. She said the meth had an estimated street value of $34,000.

Harris remains held without bond in the Hall County Jail as of Thursday morning.
