Gainesville police arrest a man for child molestation in a case that started back in 2016.
Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said officers arrested 31 year old Miguel Angel Jimienez-Galan. Holbrook said, "It is believed that he was in a relationship with the victim's mother. Through the course of that relationship, he had formed a sexual relationship with the 15 year old girl."
Holbrook said the suspect paid the child who suffers with a learning disability. "This is one of the odd cases in which he did coerce her to perform sexual acts on him in exchange for money," Holbrook explained. "In essence prostitution and he has been charged for that as well."
The suspect faces charges of child molestation and pandering by compulsion.
Jimienez-Galan remains on an immigration hold in the Hall County Detention Center.
