Public input meeting Monday on State Route 316 improvements in Gwinnett County

Gwinnett County leaders are asking for the public's input on plans to improve State Route 316 at an informal meeting Monday.

State Senator P.K. Martin will host the meeting. It will feature conceptual plans for a combination of grade-separated interchanges and frontage roads along 316 from State Route 20 to Drowning Creek Road, according to a press release from the Georgia Department of Transportation.

“Voter approval of SPLOST allows us to leverage our local dollars with matching State funds through a close working relationship with the Georgia DOT," said Charlotte Nash, Chairman of the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners. "We are now moving ahead with projects that will improve safety and reduce traffic congestion on this important roadway.”

The meeting is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. at the Dacula Park Activity Building. It is informal and citizens are encouraged to drop in and ask questions.

Other State and local leaders, including State Representative Chuck Efstration and State Senator Renee Unterman, will be in attendance. Staff and consultants for both the Georgia DOT and Gwinnett County will be available as well.
