Hall County gets approval on service delivery agreement

By B.J. Williams
As of August 1, Hall County is in compliance with state requirements for its Service Delivery Strategy (SDS), according to state officials.

MaryBrown Sandys, marketing director with the State Department of Community Affairs (DCA) said  Thursday morning that Hall County made revisions as requested by the state and the document was approved.

The county had been asked to make some revisions to its original submission at the end of June, which left the county unable to acquire any new state funding until the document was approved.

"We felt confident that the Service Delivery Strategy would be approved and are glad to hear of its final approval from the state," said Hall County government spokeswoman Katie Crumley via email.  "We would also like to thank the various cities involved in working together with us throughout the SDS process in order to provide the highest level of service to the citizens in our community."

Basically, the SDS is a plan that ensures there is no overlap of services between a county and its incorporated cities. All of the cities in Hall County - with the exception of Lula - signed the most recent SDS.
