Gainesville police investigators said a man whose body was found in Longwood Park across from Gainesville High School Monday morning took his own life.
Sgt. Kevin Holbrook with the Gainesville Police Department said family members discovered the man's body around 8:30 a.m. and called authorities.
Longwood Park was closed for a time while police conducted their investigation.
The identity of the deceased man will not be released publicly.
