GSP releases details of Thursday wreck in Banks County

The Georgia State Patrol has released preliminary details of a single-vehicle wreck that injured the driver in Banks County about 7:30 Thursday morning.

A Honda CR-V operated by Melissa Parr, 39, of Commerce, overturned after traveling off the roadway on Buckeye Point, overturning onto its side in a stand of trees, according to Trooper 1st Class M. Talton of GSP Post 6 in Gainesville.

Parr, who was wearing a seatbelt, was extricated by Banks County fire personnel and taken by ambulance to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center in stable condition, according to Banks County Fire/EMS Chief Steve Nichols.

Any charges will be considered after further investigation, Talton said Friday.

Crews remained on scene until 9:05 a.m., Nichols said.
