By Dean Dyer WRWH Radio

CLEVELAND — Cleveland has a new city administrator as of today.

The Cleveland City Council on Monday unanimously approved the appointment of Tom O’Bryant to the position.

O’Bryant has been serving as White County’s economic development director since 2006. In fact, he was on the job for the county Monday.

O’Bryant starts his new position with the city today, July 11.

“I’m just very grateful that the city council has confidence in me and my abilities to serve them and put forth their agenda and serve the city, the businesses and the people in the city,” O’Bryant said after the meeting.

O’Bryant was selected from 29 applicants for the position and he fills a spot that has been vacant for 13 years, when then-Administrator Bill Black of Cleveland retired and the position was not filled.

Black attended the council meeting and was complimentary of O’Bryant.
