Rising Flowery Branch senior Taniyah Worth has been selected to attend the prestigious Adidas All American Camp in Portland, Oregon, this weekend for a chance to represent the USA in Spain next summer.

Worth was one of 50 athletes selected in the US, and one of just two from the state of Georgia. Rising junior Elizabeth Gibbs of Landmark Christian Academy was the only other player from Georgia to be invited.

The camp will take place from June 29 to July 2 and will consist of skill development and live-game action.

Flowery Branch coach Courtney Newton-Gonzalez called it a tremendous honor for the program's star.

"It's a huge deal to be selected and we are so proud of her," Newton-Gonzalez said. "Taniyah has worked so hard on her skills to improve her game. I'm sure she will represent us well."

Once the camp concludes, roughly 15 players from each age class will be selected to represent the US in Spain next summer.

Worth, who plays for the Georgia-based InnerMan Lady Rebels Gauntlet Adidas team, heaped praise on the program.

"I feel like the Adidas program really has helped me develop as a player and a person," she said. "I have to step out of my comfort zone and do things I don't usually do. I was excited to be one of the players chosen out of hundreds of girls. It's an amazing opportunity and I'm glad I get the chance to take it."

But Worth said she is heading to Oregon with more than just improvement on her mind -- making the US team is her top priority.

"I feel confident going into the weekend (that I can make the final cut)," she said.
