Habersham officials provide update on landfill armed robbery; still seeking help

CLARKESVILLE — The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to seek the public’s help solving an April 20 armed robbery at the Habersham County Landfill, 4900 Dicks Hill Parkway, Mt. Airy.

Sheriff’s Lt. Matt Wurtz announced Monday that sheriff’s office personnel have recovered clothing they believe the suspect wore during the robbery, and testing is being conducted at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation State Crime Lab.

“The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division has also interviewed a person of interest in this case,” Wurtz said.

Anyone with information about the weapon used, about those possibly involved or assisting in the crime, or any other information about the case is asked to contact Investigator Reeves at (706) 839-0559.
